They won't. At least the ones that came in knowing everything they were expecting won't. The ignorant ones that keep complaining will, though.

Tell me something, has it ever occurred to any of you that just maybe they were talking about real skill, and that this game is built around that? Elite skills mean nothing; they're overhyped, plain and simple. SKILL is using what you've got available. ANYONE can take a basic PVP template and work with it and use the skills available, and if they have the SKILL to use them properly, can be just as competitive as someone that's played through the game twenty billion times over just to get an elite skill. Do they HAVE to play PVE to be better?

NO!

You give me one good REASON, and not a freakin' opinion, on how in the world you can be better with your "Elite" skill. THAT's how this game's advertised; you think differently, and it's only your fault that you goofed.

In fact, I hope every single one of you leave. I'm tired of all this crap about "Oh, PVP is ganked! PVP suxxors! PVP this, PVP that." PROVE YOUR POINT! Don't keep giving crap opinions like "They did false advertising! I was lured here!" You tried going to a lawyer yet? No?

When you all leave, the game will be a better place. Don't take pitty on us. We'll take pitty on whatever game you end up on next.

There's something you guys don't know. Beidac and StandardAI are two nice fellas who just won the "I-hate-life" competition. Basically it consisted in posting negative comments everywhere to look cool and different. I suggest you try that little button "view all posts from this user" on Beidac and his mate.

You'll be surprised.

If one of these guys met Paris Hilton and she said to him "hey, I fell in love with you, my body will be yours forever" he would probably reply "we all have to die one day, so who cares about you. Go away."

Seth Oriath - so you're saying that they used the term "skill" to deceive the fans into buying the game, knowing damn well that they weren't gonna get what they were paying for? Note the sections 2 and 6 in the original post by BE|Dac.

Ouch. That must hurt, BE|Dac. Do you even beta-test your posts before posting them?

This thread could become funny as hell-in a dangerous way though. I really hope it won't be closed, but I'm afraid that will be inevitable at a certain point.

I enjoy the fact that anet is updating weekly.

I don't enjoy the fact that up until this next one anet's updates have been really bad.

It's kinda sad that updating more frequently than most could ever hope for would blind people that there's no real fixes being done (just poor band-aids), until hopefully, the next one, which will hopefully bring the game to what it was two months ago, at least in pvp. The pve beta was still better in beta then now (a lot of skill choice+options then).

I really wish though that the people who just post to flame pvpers subtly or not or tell everyone who isn't like them to go play counterstrike just wouldn't waste everyones time and not post. Those are more worthless than practically anything I've seen on this forum.

Indeed, you can't. People who can't back up rants with some valid reason tend to spit out sensational and, I might add, totally false statements.

The patches to date have been like applying lotion to a scratch on your elbow and your knee and all the while ignoring the big old crystalline sword sticking in your chest and going all the way through, along side a fellblade, a dragon sword and being immolated.

Please read my post again. I said that's EXACTLY what they were saying; those too ignorant to figure that out (i.e. you, apparently) were deceived.

Copied and pasted from GuildWars.com Synopsis of the game:

Quote:
The game is designed to reward player skill and teamwork, not time spent playing, so you won't need to spend hundreds of hours leveling up your character to compete.
This is still true today, and was true when the game came out. You still haven't debunked that people starting a PVP template can compete just as good if they have skill. Which is what was advertised. Wanna know why you haven't debunked it? You can't.

All of you whiners can try to blame your ignorance on other things, but it won't get you anywhere. YOU are to blame for your own ignorance.

If you're so pissed and fed up with the game, why haven't you left yet? Has ArenaNet chained your hands to the keyboard and mouse, forcing you to keep playing their game? Get a clue. If you're pissed, leave. We won't be missin' ya.

You know, if everybody who claimed to hate the game simply walked away and left the rest of us in peace, we'd have a pretty cool player community.

The problem with that is, it being the logical choice, is the least desirable for the people wrecking the community

Think of it like this: What if tomorrow Anet released a patch that removes your favorite thing in Guild Wars from the game? Would you just move on and forget about the game, or would you whine and complain until it is changed back?

This is basically what is happening to these people.

This has pretty much progressed exactly the way I figured it would. The PVP UAS crowd raises concerns about levelling in PvP and how they don't want to do PvE. So Anet addresses that, allows them to get skills by doing what they like, PvP, and it still isn't enough. Let's just wait and see what they ask for next. I think it'll be pretty much everything right from the get go, but they will deny that, until they specifically ask for it.

This is a joke, First off I can't believe anyone complained that the pvp only charecters are no good because they need runes for them. Well, why don't you toy around with different skill sets until you find what is right for you, then go buy the equipment/runes you want and slap em on your charecter with the piles of money you got from "the grind". Another good idea is map out the skills you want but do not have, so you can get the most of your skill points.

I have not come into contact with ANY of these problems because I go at a slower pace. I also find alot of these complaints to be exaggerated crybaby crap. I don't want to see anyone claim "false advertising" unless their guild wars box claims that it will make their johnson grow an extra 6 inches. Please, I am glad the rational portion of your brains are still in full function. I also find that the end game is kind of exactly that... the end game. Expansions and free patches will be released in due time, and until then they have provided many activities (skills, pvp, etc.) to keep you occupied. Be patient, Anet has explicitely stated new pve areas are on their way, and the game is in a perpetual state of change. Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree with everything everyone has to say... I mean, super bosses and missions and alot of suggestions here are very good ideas, but they are being expressed in a less than ideal manner.

Try making a good 8 man team out of just the PvP templates and see how that gets you. Its kinda like attacking a tank with a toothpick. No matter how much you practice doing so...the tank's gonna win. Most of them are just plain not good.

That said, it is honestly enjoyable playing through the PvE campaign for me. The first time. It gets kinda stale when you repeat it over and over, and this is just coming from someone helping his guildmates do quests and who's second character is only at Kryta and has sat there for some time now. I think four Blood & Smokes is (already) enough for me, really. I just want to see a way to access as many skills as possible without having to play through the entire game at least three times. I would gladly take something that would unlock all non elites upon completion of the game, or anything at all, really, so I'll just wait and see till next week.
